On my way to pick up a glass order!
Stained glass is one of those unusual things that will either grab and keep you enchanted for a lifetime, or will be something you admire in passing but feel no desire to own. My enchantment with stained glass began some years ago when a good friend showed me a lovely panel of his sailboat that had been made for him as a gift. I found the play of light through glass absolutely mesmerizing – and right then and there, determined that I would learn this art.
Today, I am pleased to operate Earthglass Stained Glass studio. The studio is in its fifth year of operation and creates primarily realism based pieces that are reflective of Canada's Maritime provinces and the beauty of nature. Pieces include panels, boxes, lamps, candle shelters and some suncatchers; and are mostly made following the Tiffany copper foil method as this allows more intricate designs than traditional lead came.
Ready-made Earthglass pieces are available at "Treasures of Distinction" located at 41 Water Street in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Custom pieces are also available - and your enquiries and requests for information are always welcomed.
