During the course of my academic career at OCAD University, I made it my practice to enroll in additional courses above and beyond those relating directly to my major, Environmental Design. I was eager to learn, more generally, about the ways in which we can communicate through art and design. It also allowed me to meet a great number of artists specializing in different fields of study and to learn from them some valuable lessons, not only about art and design, but also about the great impact that artists and designers are capable of making.
Over the last 6 years , I have developed a strong interest in mythology and its relationship to art and design. I am particularly intrigued by the extent to which our beliefs and thoughts can play an instrumental role in the way in which we view and communicate with the world around us. This interest in mythology led me to create a series of mixed media art works relating to the different myths and beliefs held by various cultures around the world.
