About The Glass Studio

The Glass Studio, Toronto was started in 1982 by brothers Stephen Smylie and Thomas Smylie. With distinct but similar creative styles, they have steadily built up a portfolio of thousands of original, commissioned, residential art glass window, ceiling and door installations. The Glass Studio offers custom hand-made bevels, carved and sandblasted glass, fused glass pieces and restoration services. Notable 'commercial' projects include restoration of the Currelly Gallery windows at the R.O.M. and the two glass ceilings in the Ontario Legislature. The Glass Studio was commissioned to produce the Canadian Environmental Achievement Award for the Government of Canada.

In 2003, after 21 years in a century-old, downtown warehouse, The Glass Studio moved and opened it's bright, new studio space at 1146 Castlefield Avenue, in Toronto's officially designated 'Design & Decor' district.
