Junebug Design
As a professional graphic designer for over 24 years, I found that since the age of computers came about, the hands on part of design began to disappear. It was in 1997, when I took my first stained glass course at Prairie Stained Glass. I was hooked. This was the perfect medium to marry my skills of graphic design with stained glass. Over the years, I would continue to further my knowledge of glass with various classes and learn to push the boundaries.
All of my designs are original and begin as a small thumbnail. It is then scanned and with a drawing software, I refine the illustration further until I have a workable pattern. From there, that is where the real fun begins. Choosing colours and textures, creating kiln formed inclusions, wire work and more. Traditional only by the means of it's construction, I try to create more contemporary pieces that are different and eyecatching.
Always observing the world around me and a sketch book never more than an arms length away… you'll never know what will inspire the next glass creation.
