44 hours in the studio . . .

A compendium of kiln working techniques, process and effects. This course will be an intensive exploration of various ways to create using glass and kilns. Rather than a set syllabus, we will

explore. On the first day, we will decide what we are going to do.

This course is for students with some experience who want to take their work up a level. It will also allow students to test cold working equipment to see what machines they may want to invest in.

My studio is very well equipped with 6 kilns, a sandblaster, 2 wet belt sanders, 3 lathes, 2 flat laps, 2 pneumatic grinders, a saw, a Foredom engraver and other cold working equipment. 12 people can work simultaneously on equipment, not even counting the kilns.

We can investigate, but are not limited to pattern bars (4 kinds) metal foils, sandblasting, powder wafers, the double irid process, mosaic construction, kiln carving, and anything else we can think of.

Students will leave with several projects, some completely cold worked and footed, and a plethora of tricks and techniques to keep them busy.
