. . . I will be closing my studio in the near future, probably in December 2009. If you have wanted to take a course with me, this is your last opportunity. I am going to run one more comprehensive techniques course in October 2009. It is a 5 1/2 day course, running October 19 - 24. This workshop will be full of techniques, processes, and much more.
We will explore metal foils, Gold, Silver, Aluminum, Copper, and Variegated.
We will use a sandblaster and iridized glasses to create patterns and imagery.
We will make 4 different kinds of Pattern Bars, Roman, Book-End, Totem and Random,
and use them in conjunction with strip cut techniques.
We will kiln carve, frit cast, use a flat lap, a sandblaster, and a wet belt sander.
In addition, we will view slides of historical and contemporary kiln formed glass.
Also there will be special pricing on sheet glass and frits.
The cost is $950.00 CDN, limited to 12 students.
