It's always tragic when someone like Jack Layton or Tony Lee passes and are eulogized in these pages.

But, it's even sadder when someone like Gerry Tooke passes and no one here comments.His influence on our craft/artform was greater than most.

Well, Figgy, you're right. While I have not heard of Gerry, that's no reason not to mourn his passing, so I'll add my belated condolences to his friends and family.

What catches my attention in Mike's comment is how important early influences are to us in our development - whatever road we choose. Not to forget that; not just the individuals who were influences for us, but also the serious implication: that what we do may be similarly imporant to the "next generation". At least, we can hope to achieve that level of respect.
